Question : How are orders shipped?

Answer:     Most items are sent using FedEx Home Delivery service. The Original model will arrive in two boxes (50-60lbs each). The Compact and Back Porch models arrive one box each (60lbs and 40 lbs respectively.

Question:  Is assembly of the ComposTumblers difficult?

Answer:     Not at all. Assembly can be completed with common household tools, and in most cases will take only 1-1 ½ hours to complete. You will receive a comprehensive assembly guide to walk you through the process.

Question:  Why does the ComposTumbler  Back Porch model take 4-6 weeks?

Answer:     An important factor in making compost in 14 days is the amount of materials being used. Volume helps retain the high temperatures generated by the materials in your ComposTumbler. The high temperatures are what helps to rapidly decompose your materials. The Back Porch model is not large enough to hold those high temperatures. It was designed for customers that want the benefits of quick composting (instead of the slow pile method), but only have small amounts of material to use.

Question:  Is an activator required?

Answer:    No. If you have a sufficient supply of high-Nitrogen "green" material (fresh grass, kitchen/yard waste, farm manure…) you will not need to use activator to make compost in 14 days. Our activator works as a replacement source of Nitrogen for times when you don't have an available supply of those items. Our activator has a two year shelf life, so it can be purchased in advance and kept on hand for times when it is needed.

Question:  Can I compost in the Winter?

Answer:    Your composting season is effectively over when the outside temperatures are consistently 40 degrees or below. At that point, you ComposTumbler should be emptied and cleaned out. The exception is our Back Porch model. Because of its high-density plastic drum, material can be stored inside it during Winter.

Question:  Does my purchase come with a warranty?

Answer:     ComposTumbler's warranty is simple, honest, and straightforward.  All versions os our ComposTumbler are warranted against defects in materials or workmanship for 5 years from the date of delivery.  We will replace ant part (so the entire unit if necessary) at our expense.  This warranty is given to the original owner and is not transferable, nor does it apply to any damage caused by misuse
